So today everything went wrong for me, i was doing the print products for the 3 minute wonder brief i have set myself and i knew myself that i was getting bored of it and tired of doing the project already and i hadnt finished it yet. With the crit coming up tomorrow too, I wasn't feeling the happiest about this project at all.
So i spoke to Lorraine about it and what i that i was right, i explained the idea behind the brief which was understandable, but then when it came to showing and talking about the products there was a miss hap along the way with the direction of these. The newspaper was informing about stress, but why? Talking about stress is going to make the user more stressed or if there not stressed think they are stressed.
The booklets were then telling them what to do to overcome this stress and the message is all just a bit jumbled up.
I have a product informing about the illness and the rest telling them to do something about it, it wasn't focussed in enough on either one.
I knew there was a problem with the brief, and speaking to Lorraine did help me figure out that it was the products, they were both doing different things, which the target audience probably wouldnt read because it would be information they already know or dont really want to read about it.
With the booklet about how to overcome it, they are abit vague and you probably wouldnt see someone doing them in the office in there working time, so the whole thing was redundant.
THE POSITIVE IS THAT THE CONCEPT IS THERE AND THE IDEA IS GOOD, I JUST NEED TO REFINE THE PRODUCT AND FOCUS IT DOWN ONTO ONE ASPECT.
Problems:
- products too different from each other and both doing a different job for the audience, don't work as a set together.
- Need to focus on making the user do something as that will make them have a break.
- Booklets that already designed to make them do things to overcome stress are boring and the content is irrelevant to the audience; they wouldn't do it.
LOOK BACK INTO RESEARCH - look for another possible way which can use to combat stress
HAVE FUN
Having fun is proven to reduce stress and make you a more positive person.
- focus on having fun
- make the user do something which is entertaining for them and something that gives them a bit of fun within the workplace.
PROCRASTINATION
- everybody in the workplace will do it - how can i use this to my advantage?
- controlled procrastination? - 3 minutes
- things the user can do that don't really have any purpose or meaning but is fun to do and takes there mind off work whilst doing it.
WORK WITH THE SAME CONCEPT, CHANGE THE IDEA TO THIS NEW ONE.
